Acropolis is hands down one of the loudest, messiest places in all of Ybor City, and that's saying a lot. When you first walk in to the place, there are napkins everywhere. It was like one of those roadhouse steak places my dad use to take me to except instead of peanuts, I step on paper every inch I walk. Two guys wail away on a synthesizer and some sort of Greek guitar, very talented, very loud. A belly dancer lingered over my shoulder for a good five minutes, and the wait staff took intermittent dance breaks.
And by all this I mean to say that Acropolis is by far the best place to go and have a great time. Service is great. Food is rich and seriously off the chain. The hummus left something to be desired with that fresh from Publix taste, and small amount of pita. I got the Chicken Rhodes and my lady got the Drunk Quail. The Drunk Quail was fantastic, hard to eat because it was quail, but worth gnawing on some bones for some nice morsels. The Chicken Rhodes was awesome in a nice white wine sauce, lean chicken and vegetables (yes vegetables) that will knock your socks off.
My fiance and I plan on going back however often we can. Thanks to prices right around ten bucks for an entree, that can be fairly often.
In short:
Don't go if your an old fart and would like to be bored at dinner. If you want to have a nice quiet meal there's an Olive Garden down the street. If you want to have delicious food in an awesome ambience than come before 10 so your parking will be free.
